Apathetic Stories

Skinny is the body
skinnier, the soul
skeletoned frame I own
pale heart with a hole

Black all my skin
yellow down my nose
pot for a stomach
for your lens I pose

Haiti, my home? my hell?
my blessed limbo?
Hunger burns my belly
idling hands akimbo

Mother, mother, as I lie, you lie;
stone soup steam;
as I drift; "ready in five"
you shamelessly beam

A bout with nature, futile
mother fail to kill;
every day I die
every backyard I fill

A poser to Him I must lay
"How skewed the balance beam?
when stone soup pine I
rich cousin savours cream?"

Sunset state I stare with gleam
kin we are, expansively removed
apathy rules the roost they say
the day compassion moved...

Nice!!
It is so difficult to see beyond ones own needs...once I have a job, once i have paid back the loans, once settled at work...there are so many reasons or excuses or is it just a mere lack of concern ...Will I bother?

In such things..Its not the thought that counts. It is the action which makes any difference.
