Twist in the tale
As I made my way to work through the early morning bustle, a yawning sun seemed to be peering out of the distant hills, threatening to spill light all around. The sky was clear for miles. My mind, though, seemed to be clouded by the day that lay ahead. Just then a loose breeze seemed to blow and blow the crease off my forehead. The morning air filled my lungs with fresh air and my mind with serenity. I began to wonder if there was anything more peaceful than this. As if on cue, there she was, with the answer.
She was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Her aura seemed to catch me by the collar and force me to look at her. Her hair seemed silken to the touch and golden to the look. It blew slightly from the draft that made its way through the slight opening in the window. Her features were sharp and sculpted. Her posture was immaculate and she was as graceful as a queen. Yet, she had no airs about her. It was as if she was oblivious of her stunning beauty. As her car slowed down and came to a halt at the lights, our eyes locked. Her big black round eyes had a softness to them. They called out to me. I am not one for staring, but she had me captivated and I ogled on. To my utter surprise she kept staring back at me. As we gawked at each other, the lights turned green and the car picked up pace slowly. She turned her head with the pace of the car as much as she could, as we continued to fixate on each other. When it was no longer possible for us to look at each other, I turned back ahead. I couldnt help but smile to myself. There was a sense of peace, a sense of bonding, even if only for a few brief moments.
As I ambled across to my office, I heaved a slight sigh. Apparently, bringing dogs to work is a very American phenomenon.
